Safe and Affordable Housing

Bonton Farms has created a tiered housing approach designed around the next dignified step for neighbors at various stages of being housed.

We currently have emergency pallet shelters, tiny homes and triplex homes in our housing portfolio.

Additionally, Bonton Farms will continue to expand the housing opportunities for residents of the community and by 2026 will include a 36-unit apartment complex and at least four more rent-to-own triplex units.

Safe & Affordable Housing: A Place to Call Home

A home is more than four walls—it’s safety, stability, dignity, and peace of mind. Safe and affordable housing forms the foundation for every other aspect of life. Without it, it becomes nearly impossible to focus on health, education, employment, or building a better future.

At Bonton Farms, we believe everyone deserves a place to call home, where they can rest, dream, and thrive.

Rigo’s Story

We work to help struggling residents climb the socioeconomic ladder and find a clear path to homeownership. Like sun, soil and water are to seeds, safe housing and stable employment are to human beings. When we realized housing stability was getting in the way of some of our employees’ success, we started a housing program to help them keep a roof over their heads. We found that Bonton residents are 82% more likely to stay employed when they have access to stable housing. As part of this effort, we’ve launched initiatives that include:

  • A rent-to-own housing program

  • Partnerships with other nonprofits to address the lack of affordable housing crisis in Bonton

  • Financial education about the dangers of high-interest loans
